Kerala LPG Truck Drivers Declare Indefinite Strike from November 5 in Protest of Delayed Service Agreement Decision

Gas cylinder transportation in Kerala faces a potential standstill as LPG truck drivers in the state have announced an indefinite strike starting from November 5. The strike has been organized to express their frustration over the prolonged delay in reaching a decision about revising the service agreements. Discussions about revising these agreements were initiated in 2022, but no resolution has been reached so far. As a symbolic gesture, the drivers held a six-hour strike on Saturday from 6 a.m. to noon, garnering support from various left organizations, including CITU and AITUC. The decision to proceed with the indefinite strike was made during a meeting conducted by these organizations to address the ongoing issue.
