Kudumbashree Achieves Record Income of Rs 1,816 Crore in FY 2023-24

Kudumbashree, Kerala’s flagship women empowerment program, has achieved remarkable success in the fiscal year 2023-24, reporting a substantial income of Rs 1,816 crores. The enterprises operating under Kudumbashree contributed significantly to this revenue, with Rs 100.64 crore generated from monthly markets, marketing fairs, and Saras fairs held across various states. Notably, Ernakulam district emerged as the top revenue generator, contributing Rs 182 crore to the total income.

This achievement marks a significant growth compared to the previous fiscal year, with Kudumbashree’s income witnessing a notable increase of 34.81 percent from Rs 1,347 crores in FY 2022-23. Looking ahead, the program aims to achieve a revenue target of Rs 3,000 crore for the current fiscal year.

Currently, Kudumbashree operates over one lakh enterprises, with 80 percent being individual ventures spanning diverse sectors such as nutrition units, tailoring units, and hotels. The program’s products, including soap, pickles, and sweets, enjoy robust demand in the market.

To further enhance its sales channels, Kudumbashree has leveraged popular e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and ONDC, generating an income of Rs. 90 lakh in FY 2023-24 and benefiting 237 entrepreneurs. Additionally, the program plans to introduce 600 new products through ONDC in the upcoming phase. Furthermore, Kudumbashree services will soon be accessible through the Pocket Mart mobile application.

Expanding its retail presence, Kudumbashree’s products are now available at the signature store in the Kozhikode airport and the premium basket outlet established as part of the Kochi Metro initiative. These strategic expansions aim to amplify the reach and impact of Kudumbashree’s empowerment initiatives across Kerala.
