Congress Leader AK Antony’s 83rd Birthday Coincides with Congress Party’s 139th Foundation Day

Congress Working Committee Member AK Antony, who turns 83 today, is set to participate in the birthday celebration of the Congress party, which completes 139 years on the same day. Despite his personal preference not to celebrate his own birthday, the coinciding milestone of the Congress party’s foundation day makes it a unique occasion.

Known for his disciplined and reserved nature, AK Antony maintains regular communication with both national and state leadership within the Congress party. Despite not holding official party responsibilities in day-to-day affairs, he remains actively engaged in discussions on political developments in both the country and Kerala.

Described as having no major health problems and still maintaining high energy levels, Antony follows a disciplined daily routine. He begins his day by waking up at 5:30 am, engaging in a morning walk for exercise, and reading newspapers in detail. His breakfast, at 8 am, typically includes two idlis, one egg, and a small fruit. For lunch, he opts for fish curry, some vegetables, and a small portion of rice.

In the evening, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Antony makes it a point to visit the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and interacts with visitors. If there are more people, the interaction time may extend further. His dinner, consisting of a single chapati and vegetable curry, is followed by bedtime at 10 pm.

During his leisure time at home, Antony occasionally watches TV, reads books, stays informed about news and news-based programs, and occasionally indulges in films. He has had two encounters with COVID-19, with the first instance being more challenging. While it has become a bit difficult for him to walk, Antony maintains an active and engaged lifestyle.

In his own words, Antony states, “I don’t celebrate birthdays. I will participate in the Congress Foundation Day celebrations organized at KPCC.”
