Ingredients
A palm full of mukkutti or biophytum sensitivum
½ cup raw rice
½ cup grated coconut
1 cup melted jaggery
½ tsp cumin powder
1 tbsp ghee
2 shallots
Preparations
Soak the raw rice for at least 4 hours.
Grind the soaked raw rice with coconut and washed mukkutti into a fine paste.
Transfer this paste into a thick-bottomed vessel.
Add jaggery syrup to the mixture.
Boil the mixture until it thickens.
Add cumin powder and mix well, then turn off the flame.
In another pan, heat the ghee and sauté the shallots.
Add the sautéed shallots into the kurukku or porridge.
