As the wedding season gets underway, gold prices have experienced a notable surge. The current market price of gold has risen to ₹52,520, marking an increase of ₹760 from the previous day, following a rise of ₹200 the day before. This is the fourth consecutive day of price hikes in the state, with gold prices crossing ₹52,000 for the first time since the central budget announcement.
The increase in gold prices follows a period of decline after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s decision to reduce the import duty on gold last month. Since then, gold prices have risen by ₹1,720 over the past four days. The price of silver has also seen an uptick, with one gram now priced at ₹88.
