India commemorated 75 years as a sovereign democratic republic with a spectacular Republic Day celebration at Kartavya Path. The parade highlighted India’s military capabilities and rich cultural diversity, reflecting this year’s theme, ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’ (Golden India: Heritage and Progress).

Nearly 10,000 special invitees, including sarpanches from top-performing villages, Paralympic athletes, handloom artisans, and conservation workers, witnessed the grand parade. President Droupadi Murmu led the event, accompanied by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the chief guest. Indonesian military contingents also participated, marking the fourth instance of an Indonesian leader attending this national celebration.

The parade featured 16 tableaux from states and Union Territories and 15 from central ministries, showcasing India’s blend of heritage and progress. Cutting-edge defense systems like BrahMos, Pinaka, Pralay, and the Nag Missile System debuted, along with the tri-services tableau ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat’, depicting synchronized operations across land, air, and sea.

War heroes, including Param Vir Chakra and Ashok Chakra awardees, graced the event, while a 40-aircraft flypast and cultural performances by 5,000 artistes mesmerized the audience. A unique tri-services tableau, mounted columns, and mechanized units underlined India’s strength and unity, reflecting the spirit of its Constitution adopted 75 years ago.

The Republic Day celebrations culminated in a grand finale that underscored India’s unwavering commitment to democracy, unity, and progress. The event served as a powerful reminder of the nation’s rich heritage and its strides toward a secure and prosperous future. The synchronized display of military precision and cultural vibrancy symbolized the collective efforts of the nation to uphold the values enshrined in its Constitution. As the tricolor fluttered high above Kartavya Path, the occasion inspired millions to take pride in India’s journey and contribute toward its continued growth and resilience.
