Gold Prices Soar to Record High with a Sharp Increase of Rs 680 in a Day

Gold Rates Surge Again After Brief Decline; Further Hikes Expected

Gold prices in Kerala have surged to an all-time high, with a significant increase of Rs 680 per sovereign in just a day. This sharp rise has pushed the price of one sovereign (8 grams) to Rs 60,760, breaking previous records. The increase comes after a brief dip in gold prices over the past two days, where rates had declined by Rs 360, offering temporary relief to buyers. However, today’s sudden spike has once again made gold more expensive, impacting both investors and jewelry buyers.

With the latest hike, purchasing one sovereign of gold, including GST and making charges, is expected to cost over Rs 65,000. Analysts attribute this surge to rising global gold prices, and experts predict that further increases are likely in the coming days.

The price of 22-carat gold has increased by Rs 85 per gram, bringing the current rate to Rs 7,595 per gram. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold has gone up by Rs 75 per gram, reaching Rs 6,275 per gram. The lowest recorded price for gold in Kerala this month was on January 1st, when one sovereign was available for Rs 57,200.

Meanwhile, silver prices have remained steady. The cost of one gram of hallmarked silver continues to be Rs 99, providing some stability in the precious metals market amidst gold’s volatile trends.
