Chennai: A dense layer of fog blanketed Chennai early Tuesday morning, leading to significant disruptions in air and rail travel. The thick fog reduced visibility to extremely low levels, affecting flights, train schedules, and road traffic across the city.
At least nine flights were diverted, while several others experienced massive delays due to the poor weather conditions. Among the affected flights, at least five services between Delhi and Mumbai were delayed, with some inbound flights forced to reroute to alternative airports as visibility at Chennai International Airport dropped dangerously low.
