Antony Varghese Pepe’s highly anticipated Malayalam action thriller Kondal has been cleared for release by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate. The film is set for a theatrical release on September 13, coinciding with the Onam festival. Directed by debutant Ajit Mampally, Kondal is billed as a revenge drama set against the backdrop of a coastal community, promising intense action sequences and gripping storytelling.
The film stars Antony Varghese Pepe in the lead, alongside prominent Kannada actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty, who takes on a crucial role. Shetty, known for his work in Turbo with Mammootty, adds to the ensemble cast which also includes Shabeer Kallarakkal, Nandu, Gauthami Nair, and others.
Ajit Mampally has crafted the screenplay in collaboration with Roylin Robert and Satheesh Thonnakkal. The technical team features Deepak D Menon for cinematography, Sreejith Sarang for editing, and a background score by Sam CS. Produced by Sophia Paul under Weekend Blockbusters, the same banner behind RDX, Kondal is expected to captivate audiences with its mid-sea drama and action-packed narrative.
The film’s first trailer has already generated excitement, showcasing Antony Varghese Pepe as a mysterious figure on a perilous mission. Kondal is set to be one of the major releases this Onam season.
