Gold Prices Surge Again: Common Man Feels the Pinch

Rising Gold Rates Affect Household Budgets—Check Today’s Gold and Silver Prices

Gold prices have once again witnessed a sharp rise, putting additional financial pressure on the common people. As of today, the price of one sovereign of gold has surged to Rs 63,440, reflecting an increase of Rs 200 compared to the previous day. The rate for one gram of 22-carat gold now stands at Rs 7,930, while 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 8,651 per gram.

Over the past two days, gold prices have risen by Rs 1,600 per sovereign, significantly impacting buyers. Yesterday, the price of a sovereign was Rs 63,240, and the lowest rate recorded this month was Rs 61,640 on February 3. Since the beginning of the year, gold rates have climbed by Rs 6,040 per sovereign, making it more expensive for those planning weddings, investments, or jewelry purchases.

The primary reasons behind this surge include global economic uncertainty, fluctuations in currency value, and increased gold reserves held by central banks. Experts believe that ongoing concerns about economic instability—especially after Donald Trump’s return to power in the US—have driven investors to gold, which is considered a safe haven asset. The depreciation of the Indian rupee against the US dollar has further contributed to rising gold prices.

Silver Prices Remain Stable

Unlike gold, silver prices have remained unchanged today. The price of one gram of silver stands at Rs 107, while one kilogram is priced at Rs 107,000. The value of silver in India is directly influenced by the international market and the rupee’s performance against the dollar. Any major shifts in these factors could lead to future fluctuations in silver prices.

With gold prices continuing their upward trend, consumers and investors are keeping a close eye on further developments in the market.
