IndiGo is all set to start direct daily flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow Airport (LHR) starting October 26, 2025, marking IndiGo’s 45th international destination and its second in the United Kingdom. The flights will be operated daily using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, leased from Norse Atlantic Airways.
These aircraft will feature a two-class configuration, with Economy Class and IndiGoStretch, the airline’s new premium product for long-haul journeys. All passengers will receive complimentary hot meals and beverages inspired by Indian and international cuisines, while alcoholic beverages will be complimentary for IndiGoStretch customers and available for purchase in Economy.
Each seat will be equipped with a personal entertainment screen offering nearly 300 hours of content. Bookings for the service are now open on IndiGo’s website, mobile app, and through authorised travel partners. According to the schedule, flight 6E 0001 will depart Mumbai at 14:45 hrs and arrive at London Heathrow at 19:20 hrs daily.
The return flight, 6E 0002, will leave London at 21:30 hrs and arrive in Mumbai at 11:45 hrs the following day. All timings are in local time zones and subject to regulatory approvals, with minor variations possible on certain days. IndiGo’s Chief Executive Officer, Pieter Elbers, described the launch as both a proud milestone and a strategic step. “Entering Heathrow, a key global hub, is both a milestone and a strategic step for IndiGo.
The India–UK corridor has strong bilateral and cultural ties, and travel demand continues to grow. After the successful launch of our Manchester route, we are excited to set foot in London and offer more seamless connectivity for our customers,” he said.
Heathrow’s Chief Customer Officer, Ross Baker, also welcomed the new route, saying the direct service will strengthen ties between the UK and India, while creating opportunities for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange. London Heathrow is Europe’s largest aviation hub and among the most connected airports in the world.
IndiGo’s entry into Heathrow gives Indian passengers smoother access to the UK, Europe, and transatlantic markets, while providing international travellers a direct link to IndiGo’s vast network of more than 90 destinations across India and South Asia.
The airline expects strong demand across business, leisure, student, and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) segments. The launch of London Heathrow flights is part of IndiGo’s broader effort to become a truly global airline.
Since 2015, the carrier has added nearly 40 new international destinations, with half of them introduced in the past three years. Earlier this year, IndiGo made its long-haul debut with flights to Manchester, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen.
