The Kuari Pass Trek, often referred to as the Curzon Trail, offers breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas and is a must-do for adventure seekers, especially during the long Diwali weekend. Famous for its panoramic views of majestic peaks such as Mt. Nanda Devi and Dronagiri, the trek combines natural beauty with a thrilling adventure, making it perfect for both beginners and seasoned trekkers alike.
Starting from Karchi, this 6-day trek takes you through oak, deodar, and rhododendron forests, offering glimpses of rich wildlife along the way. Your first day of trekking leads to Akhrotghetta, a serene campsite, while the third day brings you to the scenic Khullara meadow, where you can enjoy a night under the stars, surrounded by the enchanting Himalayan landscape.
The highlight of the trek is crossing the 13,990-foot Kuari Top, which offers stunning views of Mt. Nanda Devi, especially if the path is blanketed in snow during winter. The trek wraps up at the picturesque town of Auli, known for its snow-covered slopes and fun cable car rides—an added bonus for trekkers in the winter months. After soaking in the beauty of Auli, you’ll be driven to Dhak, marking the end of your adventure.
The best time to embark on this trek is from April to June or September to November, but if you’re looking for a snow-covered wonderland, December to February is the ideal time to visit Kuari Pass.
