Tamil Nadu’s Dhanushkodi Implements E-Pass System for Tourists

Learn How to Apply for E-Passes to Visit Arichal Munai and Ram Setu Viewpoint

Dhanushkodi, a picturesque tourist spot in Tamil Nadu, has introduced an e-pass system to regulate visitor entry, following the footsteps of Kodaikanal and Ooty. Known for its stunning sunrise and sunset views at Arichal Munai, where the Bay of Bengal meets the Indian Ocean, Dhanushkodi also attracts pilgrims to its Ram Setu Viewpoint and the famous ‘floating rocks.’

The Tamil Nadu Coastal Zone Management Authority (TNSCZMA) has directed the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) to implement the e-pass system to manage vehicle traffic effectively in the region. Tourists planning to visit Dhanushkodi will now need to register online for an e-pass before their trip.

To apply for the e-pass, the visitors must provide details such as their name, address, photo ID, mobile number, email ID, trip dates, purpose of visit, number of days, number of visitors, vehicle type, fuel type, vehicle details, pollution certificate, and accommodation location. The e-pass can be obtained through the official website designated for the system.

This move aims to streamline tourism, reduce environmental impact, and ensure a better experience for visitors. With the e-pass system in place, Dhanushkodi joins other popular Tamil Nadu destinations in adopting measures to balance the tourism growth with sustainability.
