The high-level meeting is scheduled for 11 AM, with the Defence Minister expected to provide a detailed evaluation of the ground conditions. In parallel, the national security committee will also hold a session to discuss the developments.
The Indian Army continues its intensive search operation in the Kashmir Valley, particularly in the Shopian district, where three terrorists were killed in the Keller area yesterday. These militants were affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-backed terrorist outfit. Based on intelligence inputs, authorities believe more terrorist cells may be hiding in the region, prompting an extended combing operation.
Search efforts are also underway to track down the terrorists involved in the recent Pahalgam attack. Meanwhile, officials confirmed that flight operations have resumed at Srinagar International Airport after a temporary suspension due to security concerns. In the border villages, bomb disposal squads are sweeping the areas before displaced families are allowed to return to their homes.
In Punjab, schools in five districts that share borders with Pakistan—Amritsar, Pathankot, Fazilka, Firozpur, and Tarn Taran Sahib—are reopening today, following a temporary closure due to heightened security threats. Schools in Gurdaspur had already resumed yesterday. The overall situation remains tense but is being closely monitored by defense and security agencies.
