Dulquer Salmaan has announced his much-anticipated return to Malayalam cinema with the upcoming drama I’m Game, directed by Nahas Hidhayath of RDX fame. The title was revealed on March 1, 2025, with a poster featuring a pair of hands, one injured, holding a playing card. Dulquer shared the announcement on social media, captioning it, “The Game is On!”
Earlier, the Sita Ramam actor had teased the project with a cryptic post of a burning gambling chip, captioned, “It’s Time.” Touted as an action-packed venture, I’m Game marks Dulquer’s first Malayalam film since the 2023 gangster drama King of Kotha, directed by Abhilash Joshiy.
Meanwhile, Dulquer’s recent Telugu film Lucky Baskhar continues to make waves on Netflix. The film, directed by Venky Atluri, has become the first South Indian movie to trend on the platform for 13 consecutive weeks. It topped Netflix’s Top 10 in over 15 countries and also held the global number two spot for two weeks.
Lucky Baskhar follows the story of Bhaskar Kumar, a middle-class bank employee grappling with financial struggles. Released in theatres on October 31, 2024, the film has resonated with audiences worldwide, cementing Dulquer’s status as a pan-Indian star. Fans eagerly await his next move as he gears up for I’m Game.
