Mohanlal has once again proven his undisputed stardom with his latest blockbuster Thudarumm, directed by Tarun Moorthy. The film continues its phenomenal theatrical run even weeks after its release, creating history at the box office and on ticketing platforms. It has now officially become the top-grossing Malayalam movie at the Kerala box office, as per recent reports.
A significant milestone has been achieved by Thudarum, selling over 3.94 million tickets through BookMyShow alone. For 17 consecutive days, the film has sold more than 100,000 tickets per day, a rare feat in Malayalam cinema. Theatres are still seeing packed audiences, with many venues organizing extra shows due to high demand.
On the global scale, the film has crossed ₹200 crore in box office collections, becoming Mohanlal’s second film in two months to enter the coveted ₹200 crore club, after Empuraan.
The Tamil-dubbed version, titled Thudarum, is also receiving positive feedback. Viewers have praised Mohanlal’s stellar performance, especially in the film’s action-packed second half. Prakash Varma, who plays the lead antagonist, is also being widely appreciated.
The film boasts a talented supporting cast, including Binu Pappu, Farhaan Faasil, Manianpilla Raju, Thomas Mathew, and Irshad. Technical brilliance shines through with Shaji Kumar’s cinematography, music by Jakes Bejoy, editing by Nishadh Yusuf and Shefeek V.B., and sound design by Vishnu Govind. The production’s creative finesse is further enhanced by Gokul Das’s art direction and Avantika Ranjith’s role as executive producer.
