The music industry is mourning the loss of legendary playback singer P Jayachandran, who passed away on Thursday at Amala Hospital, Thrissur. Fondly known as the ‘Bhava Gayakan,’ Jayachandran left an indelible mark on Indian music, and his passing has elicited heartfelt tributes from his peers.
Singer K S Chithra expressed deep sorrow, sharing a personal connection with Jayachandran. “I am deeply saddened by Jayettan’s demise. I began my musical journey by accompanying him to his concerts. He was like family to us,” she wrote on Facebook. Chithra also recounted her attempts to visit him during his treatment and highlighted his devotion to Guruvayurappan, adding, “He left us just before Vaikunta Ekadasi. May his soul rest in peace.”
