Mollywood’s much-awaited movie ‘Patriot’ official teaser was released on Thursday. The teaser brings together two of India’s most iconic figures, Mammootty and Mohanlal. Helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan and produced under the Anto Joseph Productions banner, known for backing some of Malayalam cinema’s most celebrated titles, promises a high-octane narrative layered with emotion, power dynamics, and political intrigue.
Apart from Mammootty and Mohanlal, the film also features celebrated actors Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathi in key roles, adding further weight to what is shaping up to be a landmark production. The teaser begins with a voiceover which says, ” I remember there was a time when this nation was controlled by the two of them. Together. Over these years, what they earned wasn’t just followers. Faith. Trust.” Overall, the teaser gives the impression that the film will revolve around a group of socially responsible individuals attempting to thwart an illegal government attempt to monitor its citizens.
It may be recalled that Mammootty returned to the sets after an eight-month break. The 74-year-old actor, who has been away from public life owing to health concerns, has now resumed work. As it is known, the director of ‘Patriot’ has confirmed that around 60 per cent of the film has already been shot, but production was delayed as Mammootty underwent treatment in Chennai. The release date has not been officially announced.
