Allu Arjun Arrested in Pushpa 2 Premiere Tragedy: Woman Killed in Stampede

Chaos at Sandhya Theatre Leads to Actor’s Arrest and Legal Action

Actor Allu Arjun has been arrested by Hyderabad police following a tragic stampede during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre on December 4. The incident resulted in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and the hospitalization of her nine-year-old son, Sri Teja, who suffered from asphyxiation.

The stampede occurred when a large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, who visited the theatre with his security team. The chaos escalated as fans rushed to enter the venue, leading to the fatal incident. Revathi was rushed to Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital but succumbed to her injuries, while her son is recovering in a hospital.

Following the tragedy, police filed a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 105 and 118(1), based on a complaint from the deceased’s family. Three individuals associated with the theatre—owner M. Sandeep, senior manager M. Nagaraju, and balcony in-charge Gandhakam Vijay Chander—had been arrested earlier.

On December 8, a police team from Chikkadpally station arrived at Allu Arjun’s residence in Jubilee Hills and took him into custody for questioning. The actor has been sent to judicial custody while investigations continue.

This unfortunate incident has raised serious concerns about safety protocols during high-profile events and the accountability of those involved. Fans and critics alike are awaiting further details and legal proceedings.
