The 2025 Mahindra Thar has been launched in India, with prices starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Since its original comeback in 2020, the Thar has remained a style and off-road icon. The new update brings feature enhancements and modest styling tweaks while retaining the same set of engines and mechanicals. The carmaker has also updated the 3-door Thar, which had started to show its age in some bits. The prices now start from Rs 9.99 lakh. To start with, the radiator grille is not finished in the same scheme as the body shell. Alongside, a silver trim is added to both bumpers for a dual-tone treatment. Sadly, the alloy wheel design remains the same, but the rear-end now features a parking camera and rear washer & wiper. For added convenience, the fuel lid gets a switch to open it from the driver’s seat.
Lastly, there are two new colour choices – Tango Red and Battleship Grey. Getting inside the cabin is a bit easier now, with the arrival of new pillar-mounted grab-handles. The updated Mahindra Thar also gets power window switches on the door panel.
10.25-inch touchscreen unit with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, sliding front armrest, and rear AC vents. The touch display will also show different parameters like altitude, bank angle, pitch and yaw angles and more, under a suite called Adventure Stats.
The Mahindra Thar continues with the same engine-transmission choices, along with the existing suspension setup and drivetrain. No changes have been made on the mechanical front whatsoever. It gets three engine choices – 1.5L diesel, 2.2L diesel, and 2.0L turbo-petrol. Gearbox options include 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT.
