Mercedes-Benz has introduced the facelifted AMG G 63 in India, priced at Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom). This latest version of the iconic luxury SUV brings several subtle yet impactful upgrades, including design enhancements, advanced technology, and a more powerful powertrain featuring a 48V mild-hybrid system integrated with its 4.0-liter V8 engine.
Externally, the new AMG G 63 sports minor but significant updates, such as vertical slats on the front bumper and a dark chrome finish on the radiator grille. Aerodynamic improvements include rounded A-pillars and a lip on the windscreen to reduce noise and enhance airflow. An optional carbon fiber spare wheel cover at the rear adds a sporty touch.
Inside, the luxury continues with the MBUX infotainment system featuring dual 12.3-inch touchscreens for both the driver’s display and instrumentation. The infotainment system now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A premium 18-speaker Burmester sound system and a new AMG performance steering wheel elevate the in-cabin experience. Additional features include temperature-controlled cup holders, wireless phone charging, and an off-road control center for easier access to driving functions. Customers can also choose from 31 unique upholstery options and 29 paint finishes under the MANUFAKTUR customization program.
Under the hood, the G 63’s 4.0-liter V8 engine still delivers 585 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, with the mild-hybrid system providing an additional 22 horsepower. A 9-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels. The AMG Active Ride Control suspension system, now available as an option, enhances both on-road dynamics and off-road capabilities. The SUV can reach a top speed of 240 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
Despite its performance-focused upgrades, the G 63 retains its legendary off-road abilities, including excellent ground clearance, water-wading depth, and approach/departure angles. Mercedes-Benz India has seen strong demand, with 120 units already allocated for delivery starting in the third quarter of 2025.
