Ola Electric, the Bangalore-based electric vehicle startup, has expanded its portfolio with the launch of four new electric scooters: Gig, Gig+, S1 Z, and S1 Z+. Priced between ₹39,999 and ₹64,999 (ex-showroom), these models cater to a wide range of users, from gig workers to urban commuters. Bookings are open at ₹499, with deliveries scheduled for April and May 2025, depending on the model.
The Ola Gig is targeted at gig workers requiring efficient transportation for short trips. With an IDC-certified range of 112 km and a top speed of 25 km/h, it features a single removable 1.5 kWh battery and is available exclusively for B2B purposes. The Gig+ is designed for those handling heavier loads, offering a top speed of 45 km/h and an optional dual-battery setup for extended range.
The S1 Z and S1 Z+ are ideal for commuters, featuring dual removable 1.5 kWh batteries. While the S1 Z offers a combined range of 146 km and a top speed of 70 km/h, the S1 Z+ balances city commuting with light commercial needs, providing a similar speed but enhanced usability.
Adding to its innovation, Ola Electric has introduced the Ola PowerPod, enabling the scooters’ portable batteries to serve as inverters for household appliances. A single battery can power essential devices like fans, lights, and routers for up to three hours, showcasing the brand’s commitment to practical and sustainable solutions.
Ola’s latest offerings aim to meet the needs of gig workers, everyday commuters, and eco-conscious buyers, making EV adoption more accessible in India.
