In a distressing incident in Mukkom, Kozhikode, a woman sustained injuries after jumping from a building in a desperate attempt to escape an alleged sexual assault. The incident occurred late on Saturday night, around 11:30 p.m., at a private lodge where the victim was employed.
According to the woman’s statement, the hotel owner, identified as Devadas, along with two staff members, Riyas and Suresh, attempted to sexually assault her. Faced with no other means of escape, she took the extreme step of jumping from the building, resulting in multiple injuries.
The victim was immediately rushed to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, where she is currently receiving medical treatment. Following her complaint, the Mukkom police registered a case against the accused under sections related to trespassing and outraging the modesty of a woman.
The authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the case, with efforts underway to gather evidence and verify the sequence of events.
