Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the growing connection between India and Poland through the sport of Kabaddi during his visit to Poland. He expressed pride in Poland’s efforts to introduce Kabaddi to Europe and praised the Kabaddi Federation of Poland for its dedication to promoting the sport. Anna Kalbarczyk, a board member of the federation, noted that PM Modi’s wisdom and understanding of Kabaddi’s philosophy were evident during their meeting. Modi commended the efforts of the federation’s leadership, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering bilateral relations and cultural exchange between the two nations.
During an address to the Indian community in Warsaw, PM Modi spoke about Kabaddi’s significance in India and its growing popularity in Poland. He lauded Poland for being European Kabaddi champions for two consecutive years and extended his best wishes to the Polish team for the upcoming Kabaddi championship.
The Poland men’s national team has made significant strides in international Kabaddi, including qualifying for the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup and defeating World Champions Iran in a key match. Additionally, Polish players like Michal Spiczko and Piotr Pamulak have participated in India’s Pro Kabaddi League, further strengthening the sporting ties between the two countries.
