Another Accident Involving Kerala CM’s Motorcade on MC Road

Minor Collision at Venjaramoodu Marks a Repeat of Motorcade Mishaps

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s motorcade was involved in yet another minor accident on MC Road, highlighting recurring safety concerns. The incident occurred at Venjaramoodu as the CM was returning from a program in Kadakkal. A jeep from the Pallikkal police station collided with the commando vehicle positioned behind the CM’s car. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the Chief Minister resumed his journey shortly after the mishap.

Initial reports suggest that the collision happened due to an abrupt halt by vehicles at the front of the convoy. This marks another instance of accidents involving the Chief Minister’s cavalcade. Just last October, a similar incident unfolded on MC Road near Vamanapuram Park Junction. During that episode, five vehicles in the convoy collided after a pilot vehicle braked suddenly to avoid a scooter rider turning toward Attingal. The CM’s car was also part of the collision, but no injuries were reported.

These repeated motorcade accidents raise questions about convoy protocols and road safety measures. While no serious harm occurred, the incidents serve as reminders of the need for enhanced coordination and precaution to prevent such mishaps in the future. These recurring accidents involving the Chief Minister’s motorcade underline the need for a comprehensive review of convoy safety protocols and training for personnel. Ensuring proper coordination, maintaining adequate distance between vehicles, and anticipating sudden stops are crucial to preventing such incidents. Given the importance of safeguarding high-profile individuals without compromising public safety, authorities must prioritize stricter adherence to traffic regulations and introduce advanced monitoring systems to avoid similar occurrences in the future.
