
Thiruvananthapuram: The 63rd State School Kalolsavam, a grand celebration of student talent and culture, concludes today in Thiruvananthapuram. The competition for the coveted gold cup has reached a nail-biting climax, with Thrissur leading the race at 965 points. Palakkad and Kannur are tied in second place with 961 points each, while Kozhikode follows closely with 959 points, making the final moments of the festival highly suspenseful.
In the schools category, Alathur BSS Gurukulam Higher Secondary School has emerged victorious with an unassailable 166 points, securing the championship title. The runner-up, Carmel Higher Secondary School in Vazhuthakadu, has earned 116 points, but could not match Gurukulam’s stellar performance.
The festival’s closing ceremony, scheduled for today, will be inaugurated by Opposition Leader VD Satheesan. Notable guests include popular actors Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas, who will grace the event as chief guests. Minister V Sivankutty confirmed that all competitions would conclude by 2 PM, with appeal decisions finalized by 3:30 PM. Minister G.R. Anil will preside over the ceremony, joined by the Speaker and other dignitaries.
Kala Mamangam 2024 has not only showcased exceptional talent but also fostered a spirit of cultural unity, leaving spectators eagerly awaiting its grand conclusion.
