Pudiyangadi, Malappuram: Pudiyangadi, Malappuram witnessed a terrifying incident during a temple festival on Wednesday morning when an elephant named Pakuth Sreekuttan went on a rampage. The chaos unfolded during a procession, with the elephant suddenly charging at the assembled devotees. Startling footage from the event shows the elephant flinging a man into the air, leaving him critically injured.
Panic erupted among the devotees as they scrambled to escape the enraged animal, resulting in a stampede-like situation. A total of 17 individuals sustained injuries in the chaos, with one person in critical condition. The critically injured man has been admitted to Aster MIMS Hospital in Kottakkal for advanced medical care.
The mahouts eventually managed to bring the elephant under control, averting further damage.
