
Kozhikode: Paragon Restaurant, located in the heart of Kozhikode, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the fifth spot in the prestigious 2024-25 list of the world’s top 100 legendary restaurants, compiled by the Croatia-based food guide Taste Atlas. This recognition highlights the restaurant’s exceptional Malabar cuisine, with its signature Malabar Chicken Biriyani being a standout. Paragon has risen from the 11th position in early 2023 to firmly place itself among the best global dining spots by the end of the year.
Taste Atlas’ rankings celebrate eateries renowned for their rich history, iconic dishes, and lasting impact on culinary traditions. The top spot went to Vienna’s Figlmüller, a legendary Austrian restaurant founded in 1905. Paragon is now part of an elite group, with other Indian restaurants also making an impression in the top 15. Kolkata’s Peter Cat, famous for its Chelo Kebabs, ranked 7th, and Amrik Sukhdev in Murthal claimed the 13th spot.
With a legacy spanning 85 years, Paragon is widely known for its delectable Malabar dishes, particularly its biryanis and seafood. This achievement not only enhances Paragon’s status as a culinary gem of India but also places it among the world’s finest dining establishments, bringing global attention to the flavors of Kozhikode and the Malabar region.
