Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam actor Jayasurya is facing new legal challenges as another sexual abuse complaint has been filed against him. The latest allegation comes from a young actress based in Thiruvananthapuram, who reported to the Karamana police that Jayasurya sexually assaulted her during a film shoot in Thodupuzha. Due to the location of the alleged incident, the Karamana police will transfer the case to the Thodupuzha police for further investigation.
This is not the first time Jayasurya has been accused of such misconduct. In a separate case, another actress filed a complaint with the Cantonment police in Thiruvananthapuram, alleging that the actor attempted to grope her during a film shoot at the state secretariat building in 2008. Following this, Jayasurya was booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
The Cantonment police have since initiated an investigation, visiting the complainant’s residence in Aluva to record her statement. As the investigation progresses, authorities plan to interview all individuals involved in the film’s production, including prominent figures such as actor and director Balachandra Menon.
These developments mark a significant escalation in the legal troubles surrounding Jayasurya, with the actor now facing multiple serious accusations. The outcome of these investigations will be closely watched, as they could have far-reaching implications for Jayasurya’s career and public image.
