Ongoing Search for Arjun and Others Missing in Shirur Landslide Intensifies

Focused inspection at Navy-marked spot; family demands accelerated efforts

The search for Arjun and others who went missing after the landslide in Shirur continues today with renewed efforts. Local authorities, alongside diver Ishwar Malpe, are working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals. The focus of today’s search is on a specific area marked by the Navy, where significant clues may be found. To assist the process, a dredger has been brought in to clear the soil from the Gangavali River. Additionally, divers from the Dredger Company will be utilizing an underwater camera to capture detailed footage of the riverbed in hopes of spotting wreckage or clues linked to the missing people.

Arjun’s family has urged authorities to expedite the search efforts, especially after some initial findings. His sister, Anju, plans to visit the site today to closely monitor the progress. Yesterday, local diver Ishwar Malpe discovered vehicle wreckage in two locations along the river. Upon further inspection, authorities found the cabin and the front tire of the tanker lorry, believed to have been displaced by the landslide.

Despite these discoveries, the search continues with hope for more conclusive results. The community remains hopeful as teams work around the clock to bring closure to the families of those still missing.
