Railways to Operate Three Special Trains from Telangana and Karnataka for Onam Festivities

1.48 Lakh Passengers Expected as 129 Special Trips and 190 Extra Coaches Enhance Onam Travel Services

Thiruvananthapuram: In anticipation of heavy passenger traffic during the Onam season, the Indian Railways is set to operate three special train services from Telangana and Karnataka to Kerala. These special trains will depart from Kacheguda, Secunderabad, and Hubballi to accommodate the increased demand from travelers heading to Kerala for the festivities.

Train No. 07333/07334 will run from Hubballi to Kochuveli, departing on September 13 at 6:55 am and arriving the next day at 6:45 am. The return service is scheduled for 12:50 pm the same day. Train No. 07119/07120 will operate from Secunderabad to Kollam, leaving at 5:30 pm on September 13 and reaching Kollam by 11:20 pm on the 14th, with the return service starting at 2:30 am on September 15. Train No. 07044/07045 will depart from Kacheguda to Kollam on September 14 at 4:00 pm, arriving at 11:20 pm on the 15th, with the return journey commencing at 2:30 am on the 16th.

Railways officials have estimated that around 1.48 lakh passengers are expected to travel by train during the Onam season. Compared to last year’s 52 special trips and the 22 trips the year before, this year sees a significant increase, with 129 special trips being planned. Additionally, 190 extra coaches have been added to manage the high demand during the festive period.

The Indian Railways’ initiative to run 129 special trips, along with the addition of 190 extra coaches, reflects the growing demand for train services during the Onam season. With an expected influx of 1.48 lakh passengers, these special trains from Telangana and Karnataka to Kerala will provide much-needed relief for travelers heading home for the celebrations.
