The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the city and centre-wise marks for the NEET UG exam as directed by the Supreme Court. The results, now available at exams.nta.ac.in, provide marks by state, city, and centre without revealing individual student identities. The move follows the Supreme Court’s directive on July 18 to disclose these marks to investigate if students from centres with reported irregularities scored disproportionately higher than those from other locations. The petitions seeking the cancellation of the examination, a re-examination, and a court-supervised inquiry will be heard by a bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Mishra.
Significantly, the data reveals lower scores in the controversial centres. In Haryana and Jharkhand, where irregularities were reported, no student scored more than 700 marks. Previously, on June 4, six students from Haryana had secured the perfect score of 720 out of 720. Specifically, at Hardayal Public School in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, the highest mark achieved was 682, with only 13 out of 494 students scoring above 600. Similarly, at the Hazaribagh centre in Jharkhand, the highest score was 690. The Supreme Court had earlier cancelled the grace marks of students who had scored 720 marks and ordered a re-examination.
