Malappuram FC Claims 2-0 Victory in Kerala Super League Opener

Anas Edathodika’s leadership and Pedro Manzi’s brilliance power Malappuram FC to victory over Força Kochi

Kochi: Malappuram FC kicked off their Kerala Super League campaign with a commanding 2-0 win over Força Kochi at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi. The match saw a dominant performance by Malappuram, led by experienced captain Anas Edathodika, as they secured an early lead and maintained their advantage throughout the game.

The opening goal came just three minutes into the match when a well-placed cross from Faslu Rahman found Uruguayan striker Pedro Manzi, who calmly slotted the ball into the net to give Malappuram FC a 1-0 lead. The team doubled their advantage five minutes before the half-time whistle, as Manzi’s header was perfectly set up for Rahman, who headed it into the net, making it 2-0.

Under the guidance of English coach John Gregory, Malappuram FC showcased solid teamwork and tactical awareness. Força Kochi struggled to break through Malappuram’s defense and failed to find the back of the net, despite several attempts. The match highlighted Malappuram’s readiness for the season, with Pedro Manzi and Faslu Rahman forming a lethal attacking duo.
