Homemade Sushi Recipes: California Roll and Spicy Crab Sushi

Japan’s traditional dish, sushi, has gained popularity all around the world. Sushi has become popular all around the world, not just as a food but also as an experience. Sushi enthusiasts frequently share their enjoyment of the dish on social media and in culinary blogs these days. You can now attempt these recipes to create sushi at home.

California Sushi Roll

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups Sushi rice

2 cups Water

1 tbsp Sugar

½ tsp Rice Vinegar

1 ¼ tsp Salt

2 tbsp Mayonnaise

½ tsp Togarashi Seasoning

3/4 cup Cooked crab meat and Prawns

2 Nori sheets (Seaweed Sheets for sushi roll)

2 tsp White Sesame Seeds

2 tsp Black Sesame Seeds

1 Chopped Cucumber

1 Sliced Avocado

¼ cup Pickled sushi ginger (Gari)

4 tsp Wasabi Paste

Preparation:

Cook the sushi rice and spread it on parchment paper to cool.

In a bowl, mix sugar, ¼ cup vinegar, and salt. Heat until sugar melts, then add to the rice. Set aside.

Mix mayonnaise, Togarashi seasoning, remaining vinegar, and salt with crab meat and prawns.

Place plastic wrap on a sushi mat, then a nori sheet. Spread rice, sprinkle sesame seeds.

Layer cucumber, crab, shrimp mix, and avocado. Roll tightly and repeat for more rolls.

Serve with gari and wasabi.

Spicy Crab Sushi

Ingredients:

1 cup Sushi rice

1 cup Water

1 ½ tbsp Sushi vinegar

3 tsp Mayonnaise

1 ½ tsp Sriracha sauce

100 g Crab meat

2 Nori sheets

2 tbsp White and black sesame seeds

Preparation:

Cook sushi rice and mix in sushi vinegar. Let it cool.

Chop crab meat and mix with mayonnaise and Sriracha sauce.

Place plastic wrap on a sushi mat, then a nori sheet. Spread rice, sprinkle sesame seeds.

Add crab mixture and roll tightly.

Cut into 8 pieces and serve.
