Musk, the platform’s owner, reported that the interview had been affected by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack, which overwhelmed the site and led to technical glitches.
Musk disclosed the issue via X, stating, “There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X. Working on shutting it down.” This attack compromised the live streaming of the interview, which was expected to bolster Trump’s presidential campaign.
The conversation was meant to be a pivotal moment for Trump’s campaign, especially after recent political shifts. The former president had been banned from Twitter following the January 2021 Capitol riot, but Musk reinstated him when he acquired the platform and rebranded it.
