Washington: Dhruvi Patel, a student of Computer Information Systems from the USA, has won the title of Miss India Worldwide 2024, marking a significant achievement in the longest-running Indian pageant outside of India. Dhruvi, who dreams of becoming a Bollywood actor and UNICEF Ambassador, expressed her excitement over the victory, stating, “Winning Miss India Worldwide is more than just wearing a crown – it symbolizes my heritage, values, and a chance to inspire others on a global platform.”
The event, which took place in Edison, New Jersey, also saw Lisa Abdoelhak from Suriname being named the first runner-up, while Malvika Sharma from the Netherlands secured the second runner-up spot. In the Mrs. category, SuAnn Mouttet from Trinidad and Tobago was crowned the winner, followed by Sneha Nambiar as first runner-up and Pawandip Kaur from the United Kingdom as second runner-up. Sierra Suret from Guadeloupe was crowned Miss Teen India Worldwide, with Shreya Singh from the Netherlands and Shradha Tedjoe from Suriname as first and second runners-up, respectively.
The pageant, organized by the New York-based India Festival Committee and spearheaded by Indian-Americans Neelam and Dharmatma Saran, is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year, continuing to be a global platform for showcasing talent and culture.
