In a shocking incident in Kalanjoor Padam, Pathanamthitta, a man allegedly hacked his wife and a friend to death on Sunday night over suspicions of an affair. The victims, identified as Vaishnavi (27) and Vishnu (34), were attacked with a machete at Vishnu’s rented house, located near the accused’s residence.
According to the FIR, Baiju, Vaishnavi’s husband, suspected his wife of having an affair with Vishnu. The situation escalated after Vaishnavi reportedly took a loan from a self-help group and gave the money to Vishnu, leading to frequent disputes between the couple.
On the night of the incident, an argument broke out between Baiju and Vaishnavi, prompting her to flee to Vishnu’s house for safety. Baiju chased her down and attacked her with a machete. He then called Vishnu out of the house and killed him as well.
The attack occurred around 11:00 pm. Vaishnavi died on the spot, while Vishnu succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. Their bodies have been sent to Pathanamthitta General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
After committing the crime, Baiju informed his friends, who called an ambulance and rushed the victims to the hospital. Police have registered a case and taken Baiju into custody. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of the tragic incident.
