In a dangerous escalation of hostilities, Pakistan has launched coordinated attacks on multiple Indian territories, with Jammu emerging as a prime target. As part of its offensive, heavy shelling was reported in RS Pura, Arnia, Samba, and Hiranagar—regions located near the International Border and Line of Control. Reports confirm that Pakistan has initiated airstrikes in these areas, causing widespread panic and damage.
A massive explosion was heard shortly before 9 p.m., prompting immediate action from Indian security forces. Warning sirens blared across cities, and a complete blackout was declared in Jammu to minimize visibility to aerial threats. The Jammu airport and airstrip were also plunged into darkness as part of the emergency protocol. The Indian air defense system responded swiftly, successfully intercepting incoming missiles mid-air. Eyewitnesses described seeing bright flashes in the night sky, believed to be the result of these interceptions, as reported by NDTV.
In response to the attacks, mobile communication services have been suspended across several regions in Jammu. The blackout isn’t limited to Jammu alone—similar measures were enforced in Srinagar, Udhampur, Pathankot, Samba, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Agenoor, and border zones in Punjab and Rajasthan. Intense shelling has also been reported along the International Border in Akhnoor, Rajouri, and Reasi, further intensifying the conflict. These aggressive maneuvers by Pakistan follow its earlier failed attempt to target 15 Indian cities, raising concerns of a broader conflict in the region.
