The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its manifesto for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, titled “Puthiya Yugam Padaikkum Thamarai Vaakkuruthigal 2026,” presenting a broad vision focused on economic progress, social welfare, and cultural renewal. The party described the document as a forward-looking roadmap that reflects the aspirations of diverse sections of society and aims to drive the state toward a more prosperous future while building on its rich heritage.
A key highlight of the manifesto is women’s empowerment. The BJP has promised ₹2,000 per month for women heads of households, three free LPG cylinders annually, and interest-free loans of up to ₹50 lakh to support small businesses. Additional initiatives include subsidies for electric vehicles and measures to enhance women’s safety.
Youth development and employment generation also feature prominently. The party has pledged to create one lakh government jobs and provide loan waivers for unemployed youth burdened with education debt. It also plans to introduce skill development programmes in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and robotics, along with establishing a State Skill Development University to better equip the workforce.
In the agriculture and fisheries sectors, the manifesto proposes increased financial assistance and improved infrastructure. Farmers would receive enhanced support under the PM-KISAN scheme, along with benefits for livestock and better storage facilities. For fishermen, the party has promised higher financial aid during off-seasons and pension schemes for senior members.
Infrastructure development is another major pillar. The BJP has outlined plans for plug-and-play industrial parks, high-speed rail links connecting major cities, and new rapid transit corridors. It also aims to position Tamil Nadu as India’s hub for desalination, supported by a dedicated research centre.
The manifesto also includes cultural and social initiatives, such as support for temples, recognition of important festivals, and programmes to preserve heritage. Efforts to combat drug abuse, improve urban sanitation, and expand healthcare services for senior citizens are also part of the plan.
Reinforcing its “double engine government” approach, the BJP emphasized alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development model, arguing that coordination between the Centre and the state would accelerate growth and improve welfare delivery.
Overall, the manifesto combines welfare measures, job creation strategies, and infrastructure investments, presenting a comprehensive plan to reshape Tamil Nadu’s economic and social landscape ahead of the 2026 elections.
