UDF Will Overcome Any Unholy Alliance in Nilambur: VD Satheesan

Opposition Leader Asserts Confidence in Victory, Criticizes State Government’s Failures in Wayanad

In a strong political statement, Kerala’s Opposition Leader VD Satheesan asserted that the United Democratic Front (UDF) is fully prepared to counter any covert or overt alliances formed to defeat their candidate in the Nilambur by-election. Speaking at the Nilambur Municipal Leaders’ Meeting, Satheesan described the current state government as anti-people, accusing it of failing to fulfill promises made to the victims of the Wayanad landslide disaster. He emphasized that the UDF campaign is being carried out in a structured and effective manner, adding that the Nilambur election will be a defining moment in his political journey.

Former Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala echoed similar concerns, claiming that a secretive CPI(M)-BJP collaboration is active in the by-election. Supporting the same view, Muslim League leader PV Abdul Wahab criticized the ruling Left government for betraying the public over the past nine years and expressed confidence that the by-election result will reflect public discontent.

UDF’s Nilambur candidate Aryadan Shoukath has been actively campaigning and paid homage at the memorial of late Chief Minister K Karunakaran. Shoukath, optimistic about the outcome, stated that he is poised to achieve a historic majority, regardless of the opposition. Recently, he also visited the grave of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in Puthuppally, underscoring his respect for past UDF leadership.
