Hezbollah has launched a significant attack on an Israeli base southwest of Safed city in northern Israel using successive swarms of suicide drones, resulting in injuries among the base’s personnel. According to Hezbollah, the air attack targeted the Michve Allon base, which houses emergency warehouses and a gathering of forces for the Northern Corps. The drones struck key locations, including where officers and soldiers were stationed, leading to confirmed injuries. The assault was described as a retaliation for the assassination of a Hamas official, Samer al-Hajj, who was killed by an Israeli drone strike in Sidon on Friday.
In response to the Hezbollah attack, Israeli drones and warplanes conducted 10 airstrikes on six villages and towns in southern Lebanon’s border area, causing injuries to three civilians and destroying 18 homes. The situation remains tense in Lebanon, especially after the recent Israeli attack on Dahieh in Beirut’s southern suburbs, which resulted in the death of Hezbollah senior military commander Fouad Shokor. Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has vowed retaliation, contributing to the heightened state of alert and caution in the region.
