Truecaller Unveils Real-Time Caller ID and Spam Call Blocking for iPhone Users

Truecaller Enhances iPhone Experience with AI-Powered Caller Identification and Automatic Spam Block Features

Truecaller has introduced significant updates for iPhone users, making it a powerful tool for managing spam and identifying callers. For years, iPhone users faced limitations due to Apple’s closed ecosystem, but this has now changed with the rollout of API support for iPhones. The newly added features, such as real-time caller identification and automatic blocking of spam calls, bring the iPhone version of Truecaller up to par with its Android counterpart. These updates allow users to enjoy enhanced caller ID functionality powered by AI.

The iPhone version now leverages Apple’s Live Caller ID Lookup framework, introduced with iOS 18, allowing third-party apps to identify spam calls by cross-referencing numbers with a server. With the help of homomorphic encryption, Truecaller ensures user privacy by anonymizing sensitive data, such as the IP address and phone number. The automatic spam call blocking feature is now globally available, while the live caller ID functionality is being gradually rolled out to users who subscribe to Truecaller Premium on iPhones running iOS 18.2.

To enable these features, users need to update their Truecaller app to version 14.0 or later, and then activate the settings through the iPhone’s Call Blocking & Identification menu. While free users are still limited to basic features, this update marks a major step forward in providing iPhone users with more advanced protection against unwanted calls.
