Shamsheer Vayalil, an expat, has announced a Rs 1 crore reward for Sreejesh
Abu Dhabi: The Indian men’s hockey team won an Olympic medal for the first time in 41 years by defeating Germany. Sreejesh, the Malayali goalkeeper, made some incredible saves that helped India win. Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman of Abu Dhabi-based VPS Healthcare, announced a cash award of Rs 1 crore to the talented Sreejesh.

In the bronze medal match, India defeated Germany 5-4. This is India’s first hockey medal since winning gold at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. The Indian hockey team performed admirably in this year’s Olympics.
