AI-Enabled Real-Time Electricity Usage Monitoring for Consumers
In a bid to modernize electricity management, the Power Department is set to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its operations. The initiative aims to provide real-time updates to consumers regarding their electricity usage via their mobile phones.
With a vast consumer base of 1.385 crore, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) possesses extensive data, including the registered mobile numbers of all its consumers. Leveraging AI capabilities, consumers will now receive comprehensive insights into their electricity consumption patterns, encompassing historical usage, current load, and innovative strategies for minimizing consumption.
The BrihanMumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) in Mumbai has already implemented a similar system successfully. KSEB officials are presently studying the functionality of the system for potential implementation in the near future.
