Instagram Introduces Looping Video Notes and Tests New Privacy Feature

Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to share short, looping video Notes. This feature, an evolution of the Notes introduced a year ago, enables users to share a two-second looping video captured from the front-facing camera. Users can add text captions and music to their video Notes before sharing them. The visibility of these video Notes can be customized, with options to share them with mutual followers or a user’s Close Friends list. The Notes will be visible for 24 hours, similar to Instagram Stories, and can be replied to using text, audio, photos, video, gifs, and stickers.

Additionally, Instagram is reportedly testing a new privacy feature that lets users control who can view their Likes on posts and Reels. The feature is expected to offer options such as allowing everyone to see Likes, limiting visibility to people the user follows, restricting it to close friends, or preventing anyone from seeing Likes. While this feature has not been officially announced, screenshots shared by users suggest ongoing testing. This move aligns with Instagram’s recent efforts to provide users with more control over their privacy settings and manage the visibility of their activities on the platform.
